El camino de Jero
La felicidad viene de las cosas pequeñas que, muchas veces, no tomamos en cuenta: el dormir en una cama normal y no en una literal, lavarnos las manos y tener con qué secarlas, ya sean toallas o toallitas de papel, el que las sábanas de tu cama sean de tela, tener un enchufe cerca, etc. Son cosas que parecen muy tontas, que no valen nada, pero que lo valen todo cuando las pierdes.
Últimamente me emociona tener con qué secarme las manos, que no sea mi toalla de la regadera; me emociona que me den unas sábanas reales, y me sentí como un rey al dormir sin nadie encima. ¿Qué chistoso, ¿no? Pues así es la vida del camino: vida sencilla, muy sencilla. Y es viviendo así como te das cuenta de cómo cosas tan normales nos hacen felices. Pero no solo es eso, esto es mucho más profundo.
Cuando vives de manera tan sencilla, tu vida entera se facilita. No existen las clases sociales, solo los peregrinos (y de vez en cuando, los vagabundos); no hay lujos, solo sorpresas; no hay un hogar, sino un corazón que se desplaza. Cuando vives tan sencillo, los pensamientos también se facilitan. Quitas ese ruido innecesario que estamos acostumbrados a generar: el ruido de responsabilidades que no importan, de marcas que no afectan, de vanidades que estorban, de tiempos que no sobran y, sobre todo, de lujos que nunca son suficientes. Y cuando no tienes nada de esto, tu mente se abre, deja de atarearse con cosas que no tienen significado en tu vida, y es ahí donde aprendes a vivir y a amar de manera sencilla. Empiezas a apreciar no lo que tienes, sino lo que eres.
Hoy hablé con Maik a las 5 a. m. y me dijo algo que me dejó pensando durante horas. Llevo todo el día dándole vueltas al asunto. Simplemente me dijo: “Te escuchas ligero”.
No solo me escucho ligero, me siento ligero. Pero, ¿por qué? Ligero porque, en estos momentos, no me preocupo por el futuro. Sí, hay mucha incertidumbre, pero no me preocupa; me llena de esperanza. Ligero porque dejé de cargar lo que tenía en los hombros. Dejé lo del pasado atrás: mis errores, dolores, tristezas y arrepentimientos. Todo se quedó hace muchos, muchos kilómetros. Solo me queda el orgullo de ser quien soy, de lo que he vivido, y de cómo todo eso me ha llevado a la mano de Dios. Me ha hecho más ligero.
Me siento pleno, con lo que soy y con lo que quiero ser. Quiero seguir renovando mi fe y mi visión para seguir obrando cada vez mejor, con más cariño y amor. Ser más como Él y menos como yo.
Estar pleno me hace feliz, verdaderamente feliz, y eso me permite caminar ligero. Estoy tranquilo, entregado y con ganas de seguir, porque cada día es una oportunidad para seguir soltando: que la mochila me pese menos, los dolores pesen menos y que la mente pese menos. Estos días los estoy usando para entregarme a mí y a Él, y, de esa manera, limpiarme. Al igual que con la mochila, al principio pesa, pero vas soltando, quitando lo que no es indispensable, hasta que te acostumbras. Se vuelve más liviana, y así, finalmente, puedes caminar ligero, sin preocupación, sin prisa, sin compromiso y sin miedos. Empacando solo esperanza, fe, amor, caridad, empatía y entrega. Si solo empacas eso, no solo caminarás ligero, sino que estarás siguiendo las flechas para las que fuiste llamado: el camino.
